Monachira is one of those places where you immediately sense that it has a real soul. Nestled in an absolutely stunning and iconic part of the Delta, the camp achieves something rare: it retains the essence of true safari chic without ever becoming pretentious.
The décor is superb, elegant and refined, whilst remaining deeply connected to the spirit of the Delta. But what struck me most was undoubtedly the human touch of the place. The staff are perfectly kind and attentive without ever going over the top. The same goes for the guide: engaging, natural and sincere.
The food was excellent, the atmosphere just right, and I was also lucky enough to share this trip with lovely people, which always makes the experience even more wonderful.
It’s a camp that works extremely well because there’s a real balance: a great team, an exceptional setting, a magnificent camp… and incredible encounters with wildlife. I never include a place in my itineraries until I’ve tried it out myself. This one will definitely be part of the next ones.
